- Do you live with young children or someone who is sick or handicapped and could be run over by a large dog? Perhaps a smaller animal is a safer option.

Whether mixed or purebred, dogs and cats adopted from an animal shelter or rescue group make excellent pets. Most pets end up in animal shelters through no fault of their own.
