What does traditional Chinese IME is not ready yet mean? ›

The issue occurs because the Chinese IME dictionaries are included in the basic typing package of Features on Demand (FODs) instead of Windows image files. Adding the basic typing package of FODs requires administrator permission.

Although Traditional Chinese has largely disappeared from everyday use in most of mainland China, people occasionally use it in formal settings or when emphasizing a particular word or phrase. Additionally, foreign media or subtitles of videos from Hong Kong or Taiwan can sometimes include Traditional Chinese.

Some people may claim that Simplified Chinese is easier to learn, but it is only partially true. Simplified Chinese characters contain fewer strokes and may be easier to remember for new learners. The actual effort involved in learning either traditional or simplified characters is quite similar.

Go to Settings > Time & Language > Region & language. Under Languages, select Chinese (Simplified). If you have not installed it yet, click on Add a language and search for Chinese (Simplified). Click Options and choose Microsoft Pinyin under Keyboards.

After you set up the Pinyin - Traditional input source, you can enter Traditional Chinese characters using Pinyin phonetic input codes.

Go to Setting > Time & Language > Region & Language. Click on the Chinese Language, and click on Options. Under Keyboard click on 'Add a Keyboard'. Select the appropriate keyboard and install it.

Windows 11 makes it easy to change the operating system language without having to reinstall Windows. To change the Windows 11 default language, follow the below steps: Open Settings > Click Time & language > Click Language & region.
